But Fiona was hardly safe. As soon as he could, the marquess cast her and her sister out on the streets with only her wits to keep them alive.

Alex has never forgotten that long-ago kiss. Now the dashing spy is desperate to make up for failing his duty once before. This time he will protect Fiona once and for all, from a deadly foe bent on taking revenge on the Ferguson line-and anyone who stands in the way . . .

New in Fantasy Romance - A Furious Muse (The Golden Key Legacy, Book 1) by AJ Nuest

From the Blurb:

Since the day of her birth, Princess Faedrah Austiere has been defined by her place within the kingdom. As the single heir to the half-blood gypsy king and his prophesied white queen, she is fiercely protected, shuttered inside an ivory castle and well-trained in the art of war. Yet neither her obligations as future queen nor the black infestation threatening her kingdom fail to hinder the mysterious pull of the antique armoire hidden in her parents’ bedchamber. And stealing the golden key for a leap through time is the only way to confront the dark lord haunting her dreams.

One face. The image of one defiant, relentless woman has been stuck in Rhys McEleod’s head ever since he was old enough paint her luscious curves on the canvas. But the day she walks into his life off the street—sexier than hell and itching for a fight—he’s not convinced she’s the same women he’s envisioned since childhood. That is, not until he spots the golden key around her neck—an object he’d never fully shown in any of his paintings.

Now if he could just persuade his lovely muse he’s not the enemy. Unless the elusive Faedrah Austiere learns to trust him, he’ll never have her in his bed—the one place he’s convinced she belongs.

A Furious Muse by AJ Nuest is a new fantasy romance from HarperImpulse, released on November 27, 2914.

Stephanie is back from holidays as of today - Hurray! This evening we ate our weight in ice cream and, sadly, I do have some regrets. I mastered the art of crocheting weird tiny dinosaurs, a life skill that will no doubt come in handy never... but they are quite cute. I went to a Jane Austen film marathon, in which we managed to watch the 1995 Pride and Prejudice miniseries, the 2007 Northanger Abbey film, and the 1995 Sense and Sensibility all in one afternoon/evening. As a group we decided that Mr Darcy is such a grump because he's secretly in love with Mr Bingley (the entire story makes so much more sense to me now), and I met the only other person I have ever known who believes the novel of Northanger Abbey is the best of Austen's collection. Due to its amazingness, I also want to mention again the erotic romance novel Unrestrained by Rhyll Biest, which I reviewed earlier this week. For the fantasy readers, I want to recommend the series Age of X by Richelle Mead, starting with Gameboard of the Gods. I love Richelle Mead's YA series, Vampire Academy (not the movie! *shudder*) and Bloodlines (Sydrian 4eva!), but have never gotten much into her adult novels til now. There are only two out in the series so far, but I'm totally hooked. The world is awesome - a kind of futuristic ancient Rome - and, while there is a romantic subplot, it's the action and intrigue that sells this series for me.

What have you read/watched/listened to/created/eaten this week?

xx
